Obituary of Hilbrand Wesselius
Hilbrand “Hilly” J. Wesselius, 46, of Croydon and formerly of East Stroudsburg, died, Friday, October 26, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained from being struck by a motor vehicle.
Born in Newton, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Rudolphus and Helen Mae (Eckert) Wesselius.
Hilly graduated from Warren County Vocational Technical School where he took Graphic Arts. He was a hard worker who liked working with his hands, was a talented carpenter and builder, as well as an artist. Hilly was an avid Miami Dolphins fan and enjoyed playing and watching football. He was a child at heart who was playful and enjoyed entertaining as well as helping with children. Hilly had a love for the outdoors, cooking, grilling, and enjoyed the cold weather. He also enjoyed comic books and video games.
He is survived by a son, Dylan Wesselius; daughter, Cassie Simone-Wesselius; brothers: Rudy Wesselius and his wife, Kathy of East Stroudsburg; Barkley Wesselius and his wife, Antoinette of Bartonsville; sister Christine Wesselius-Hodge and her husband, William of Glen Gardner, New Jersey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pastors Dana Antal and Lynda Keefer will conduct a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 9 at the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church, 915 N. 5th Street, Stroudsburg.
