Snjezana "Marie" Lata, 54, of Reeders, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 at her home. She was the loving wife of George Lata, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage.
Born in Cabar, Yugoslavia, she was a daughter of Matilda "Tida" (Mastnak) Oskera and Milan Njegovan.
A member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Tannersville, Marie was a devoted Catholic and very active within the church community. She was also a member of the Lady's Guild and a former CCD teacher. She was a collector of precious moments and animated frog figurines. She enjoyed relaxing with a good book, glass of wine, and her pug.
In addition to her spouse, she is survived by her children, James Lata and Holly Lata; sister, Valentina "Michella" Kniess; nieces, Heather and Rebbeca Lata; godchildren, Jonathan Lumsden, Tiffany Jackson, and Amelia Fehr.
There will be a viewing from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 3 at Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco. Reverend Father Czachor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, December 4 at Our Lady of Victory Church, Tannersville. Burial will follow at Tannersville Union Cemetery.
